Two weeks ago, I was ✨blessed✨ by a visit from my best friend and my sweet little peach of a goddaughter. They (along with a saintly and patient husband) live in New York, and we have always lived far apart. The time spent together was balm for the soul in so many ways.

We spent two weeks balancing nap schedules and a shared springtime illness, but in between we did things that sometimes you can only do with the right friend. We marched our children on a 30 minute walk to get a Gail’s chocolate brownie finger. We wobbled down Buckinghamshire village roads to avoid the trafficked M25, en route to Windsor. We poked our heads out the windows of the castle, remembering That Time They Loaded The Car, With That Dress, Yes That’s The One.

Isn’t it lovely having someone who speaks your language?

As I unabashedly shared our adventures on Instagram (and, inexplicably, my Instagram followers started to drop) a friend of mine texted me the best message: Can I just say, you really look like you’re living your best life in England. So thrilled for you.

And while I am, indeed, living my best life, I am mostly grateful for the friends who make it even better.

✨Royal Sparkle✨ Stories

These are stories that just make you feel good. I’m not saying they are winning Pulitzers, I’m just saying they’ll boost your endorphins.

  • The Royal Wardrobe by Rosie Harte will be released in the UK on June 8. It is a very good look at fashion throughout the history of the British monarchy, starting with Henry VIII. Rosie started out on TikTok (we stan a good social media-to-published book success story) and nowhere in the book, to my knowledge, does Rosie suggest that a strapless dress symbolises freedom from the straps of the monarchy.

  • Kate Middleton's unglamorous mum life - 'no make-up, strict rules and treat from William'

  • Princess of Wales tells teens she 'never expected to become royal' but fell in love with William

Second-Hand Scores

I’ve included extra finds this week, to make up for being ✨too busy being fabulous✨ to share any last week!
