Shortly after, I met with Arthur Edwards and we spoke about these serialisations. In today’s modern age of instant gratification, books are serialised before their publication date. No one needed to read Spare, because the newspapers extracted all the juicy bits. This felt true for Hardman’s Charles III story - until I interviewed him myself.
